Frequently Asked Questions

When’s the next Eek event?

Our Eek screenings happen (usually) on the 2nd Wednesday and Thursday of each month, but we don’t open up tickets straight away. Why? Because our tickets sell out fast and we want to be sure everyone gets a fair shot at them rather than being booked up months in advance. Tickets for each event go on sale 2 weeks before on Friday at 12pm. So, if you want to be the first to know when our next screening is happening, make sure to follow us on Instagram and join our mailing list for updates.

What makes a film an Eek film?

At Eek, we believe a great film is one that either filled with suspense, makes you want to laugh and cry at the same time, and has plenty of blood. If a film manages to hit all three, we’re flying! We programme each year’s films with one key question in mind; will this film make our crowd eek? And most of the time, we like to think we do pretty well in that regard. It could be a black and white classic, a good old fashioned splatter horror, or something a bit more akin to a thriller. We want it all!

Can anyone join the film club?

We love a good scare as much as the next person, but we do have a few rules at eek to keep things running smoothly. Firstly, no outside drinks are permitted within the venue. This is because our hosts are an independent bar. Snacks are welcome, but please support your fellow small businesses by buying something before you come down. Secondly, we’re afraid that we have to restrict entry to those aged 18 and over. This is because our venue operates as a brewery, and we don’t want to break any laws or put anyone in harm’s way. Finally, due to the limited space at our pop-up screenings, we require that all tickets are purchased online in advance. Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate any walk-ins on the night, so make sure to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

What’s included in my ticket?

Your eek ticket costs £9 and includes admission to the film screening, a bag of popcorn, and a limited edition printed poster from a different local artist, illustrator or creative for the Eek film we’re showing. At Eek, we believe that a great film experience should be more than just watching the movie – it should be a communal and creative event that brings people together. That’s why we strive to create an inclusive community for film enthusiasts and creative types alike. So grab your ticket, your popcorn and your poster, and come join us for a night of eek-approved cinema!
